This seems to be a good spot, and also go to www.about.com, it has everything you'd ever want to know!

Thumbs up where to find info...

Check out bicycling.com from bicycling magazine. Also - for real people with a lot of patience, try to find a cycling club near you. At first, everything seems like way too much, but then it'll calm down after a while! I am blessed enough to have a club here that is extremely patient with newbies!

A great source of info is "A Womans Guide to Cycling" by Susan Weaver. It is a wonderful book written by a woman for women. It is a must have.
