Well, not sure about exactly that but yes, the general idea. People say to me all the time, "Be careful on that bike! You might get hurt!" Well, yes, I might. But I've seen a lot of people more miserable precisely because they did not stay physically active. Tek420 have you been to the Facebook page to see how the ride is going for her?

Had a bad accident, too, this year, and the same worries about being able to ride, again, though for me it was mostly about what level of riding I'd be able to do in the future. Never a doubt I would ride, again. Good for her, though. She's a kindred spirit. Hope I'm able to do as much when I'm her age.

You're so right, though, about the health thing. My riding is exactly how I stay healthy. My health, both physical and mental, would take a nose dive if I ever stop riding.

While I probably won't be riding across the country, I hope to be like her, in my own way. Unless I am drastically incapacitated, I will be riding when I am 80. I mean, it's only 15 years away at this point. I ride with guys in their late 70s-early 80s and they put me to shame.

Ha! Speaking of keeping up with guys, when my husband is a riding his fat bike on our daily rides, I have to wait for him to catch up to me on the hills, but only as long as I'm riding one of road worthy single speeds. I outpace him easily on those. When we're both riding fat bikes, though, pretty much a draw. Frustrates me a little when we're both riding fat bikes because he doesn't put in anywhere near the number of miles on a bike in a week as I do. Yeah, guys do have a strength advantage. I think we gals have them beat on endurance, though (and definitely smarts ).

Yeah, I see me riding at 80 and beyond. May not be at my present pace, but I'll be riding.
