    Earbuds

When I ride on a paved trail, I like to use headphones. I hate the apple earbuds as they just don't fit me well. So I am curious what you all use for earbuds. I don't use them when I ride on the streets!! Thanks

I'm curiosu too. I have teeny little earholes... ones that have a thing to go around the outside of my ear work okay. (I will slip one on and listen to class notes when commuting occasionally.)

I went back to over the ear headphones, if I'm out and about I slip one off to the back so I'm aware of my surroundings, in ear buds just hurt my ears anymore so I won't use them.

Yeah, what is it about earbuds? Do we gals have small ear openings or something? I hate them and have never found a set that fits. I can barely walk without having them fall out. Can't imagine trying to use them on a bike. I very much prefer headphones which wrap around the ears, too.

I think they're like almost everything else on the planet, designed by and for men.

I use the Bluetooth Jaybird x3. I have no issues keeping them in my ears and they come with memory foam or standard rubbers and in 3 sizes and no wiring attached to my iphone.

I would never ride with them on my bike as I'm too scared of not "feeling" my environment. But that's just me.

On my bikes, I have installed a topeak ridecase (they have for various phone models)

and when I'm really in the mood for louder music...this!

I can tell you it is pretty loud and good sound coming from such small speakers. It is on the "heavier" side at 2lbs and not using it with my carbon bike but ok on my cyclo-cross bike.

This may give you options to look into.

I have an older version of these (without volume control). They are not really earbuds and not cheap. But I wanted good sound quality. I also did not want something that would block out ambient noise, since I wear them when I'm out walking and want to be aware of my surroundings. The downside of this is that I have to turn the volume up pretty loud to block out the noise at gym.

I don't wear these (or any earphones) when I ride my bike outside; I rely on what my friend calls "the mental jukebox" for music when I'm out riding.
