From last month to this month, it jumped nearly 40%.
Much cheaper to pay the federal penalty than have insurance which covers nothing. Make America Great? At whose expense anyway??

The notice we got from Florida Blue originally showed our premium increasing from $335ish to over $600/mo for 2017! But they had not yet taken into account the yearly increase in subsidies. The subsidies follow the premium increases, so when we finally got our bill for January, our premium was $310!
If you don't get a subsidy, you're definitely SOL, but for us; we love our Obamacare and pray the new administration doesn't take it away. I feel sure they will -- or at least our subsidy.
If that's the case, we'll be heading back south of the border.

I read that premiums did go up a lot for next year, I think because too many people are opting to pay the penalty instead of signing up for insurance, and only sick people are signing up. But it won't be fixed, it will just be repealed. Of course it won't matter since we'll all be speaking Russian soon.
