Thank you for all these years to TE and those who have made it a special place.

I just read a message from Susan. I am saddened to hear that TE is going to close the door on Sept. 28. It's a heart wrenching decision, a decision sometimes without a clean and clear closure. This is like a death of a family member and my condolence to all those who have made it possible.

BOO to Amazon. Yes, many have become addicted to Amazon. But like Walmart, it kills all small businesses because who can compete with Amazon. They are so big that they can take on UPS, FedEx and even USPS. Yes Amazon is going to have a fleet of jets just like FedEx to deliver packages. I digress.

I wish you the very best and I wish you find peace with the very difficult decision you have made. hugs.

Sincerely and thank you so much for all these years,

    smilincat (Shawn)

it's got to be hard to let go of a business passion that you've put so much hard work into over the years...hoping this means a less stressful life for her though.

she also wrote that the forums will continue.

So very sad to hear this. I wish Susan and her family all the happiness in the world as they move forward from this terribly painful decision.

Sad news. I love their stuff. Ordered a few things when on sale before the recently move. Would order much more but with our Cdn$ so low vs US$ and the shipping at US$21 min it became way too expensive to order shorts or jerseys. Otherwise, I would have tons of their clothing.

Good luck in any future projects that are awaiting you.

I just placed my last order, for two jerseys. (One of them will probably be too small but the size I wanted was sold out and, well, if I wear it then I will donate it to the local nonprofit bike shop.)

I am sad that they are closing. Their customer service has always been so above and beyond any other company I've dealt with. You could tell that everyone there actually cared about their customers. I wish them all much happiness, and I hope in some way we cross paths again.

I haven't been on the forum in years, life/work getting in the way of so much. But when I saw the email that they were closing, I was so sad to read it. I'm sure it was a tough decision to make. The store was much appreciated, they were always so helpful, and had such great things. I just this week recommended them to a friend embarking on tri training. I wish them nothing but the best in their next adventure!

I don't know what I would have done without this place, her business. In fact, So much of the gear I bought, I bought here! It is sad that the next generation of beginners will have to depend on Amazon...

I couldn't agree more. While not one of their biggest customers, I'm sure, I've certainly purchased from TE over the years and have recommended them to many other female cyclists. I am very sad that they are going out of business. I have bought cycling gear from Terry and Performance but NEVER from Amazon.

Thanks to Susan et. al for this amazing forum as well. I have learned SO much, hopefully have given back as much as I've gotten in knowledge and information, and have made some friends as well. I am hopeful that it will be around for a long time to come. Women need safe places like this where we can socialize and share.

    Mimi,
Glad to hear from you here. I hope you are well. I think of you often

Your jersey is still my favorite! And my Amici Veloci would be next favorite. Have not been riding much the last couple years due to health issues but getting back into it now - or when the 90 degree weather finally quits. I hope you are still riding.

yes, Martha, I am still riding, but without Donald, it is hard to rack up the miles. My new husband likes to ride but lacks the drive. And I wore my team estrogen "signature" jersey this weekend, actually!
hello to all of you. we sure had a good thing going for a while here. I was surprised to see so many familiar people here!

Mimi, hope you ride often. It doesn't have to be long rides. Just frequency even solo at times. You justifiably have a jersey of your design pride ..teamestrogen memento.

Jack and I enjoy riding together but that's not possible all the time through some of the years we've been with each other. At this time, we split our time across 2 cities, 2 homes. Even when I was in Vancouver all the time, he was off 25% of time on his solo cycling tours which I've been happy for him because he took early retirement. I've been working..

Right now he's cycling towards |Marysville, then next day to Seattle from Vancouver. He's slower now and is worried he'll get into town quite late. His plot is to somehow end the day at Taylor's Seafood for fresh oysters.

Great to see you here, Mimi. Many of us have never left. I leave for awhile when time gets too tight, but I always return.

Did not know you'd remarried but wish you all the happiness and joy you deserve. Keep on pedaling!
