What a beautiful trip this is. We took 3 days to ride 120 miles. We stopped and fly fished on the Big Hole River and the Wise River. This was the first multi day trip for our DD and other than my "trying to kill her"* she enjoyed herself and now has the confidence for her solo ride to Oregon later this summer. Yes there were hills and passes and we had more head wind than tail wind but as the Bike Hermit says "you'll have this in Bike Touring". The town of Wisdom, Montana is on the Adventure Cycling transAmerica route and they've built a great day shelter in the park with camping. Woke up to a heavy frost! but no rain or snow (that happened two days later). The road through the Pioneer Mountains was lined with wild flowers, especially deep purple lupine. Traffic was traffic but we were mid-week so again the byway itself was probably quieter than a weekend. The Bike Hermit is now pedaling from Bozeman to Missoula so I will have to add more photos to my album later but here are just a few.
*I failed the #1 rule of letting the person behind you know you are stopping and she couldn't unclip and tipped into a bridge railing...
