What do you do to get ready for riding in fall temperatures? I so love fall, the crisp air and the awesome colors...fall is home to me!

My favorite riding season. I don't do anything to get ready, just happy to not be riding in the heat and getting to wear different cycling clothes!

Me too. I'm not a hot weather person and feel like I come alive again in the fall.

I love everything about fall. Cooler temps, leaves changing, cozying up at the fireplace, sweater weather, pumpkin everything, hay rides and bonfires.

I prefer summer. Not that I dislike fall, I just dislike knowing that winter is on its way. And I prefer late sunsets.

As for preparation, you'll want some layers to add or subtract as weather conditions change and you warm up or get colder during a ride. Arm warmers, wind breaker, wind vest, base layers, stuff like that. Capris, knee warmers, leg warmers or tights, toe covers if you're prone to cold feet. I personally find that wool garments are the most versatile for fall, winter and spring, and I know I'm not alone in that.

There's a bike shop near where you live called Bike Doctor. I've never been there but many of my friends in the Oxon Hill club shop there and have nothing but great things to say about them. They can be helpful with suggestions for cool weather clothing (and lots of other things). And of course the good people at Team Estrogen have just about everything you could need and they can provide good, specific advice about their products if you have questions.

    - Red hardtail 26" aluminum mountain bike, Bontrager Evoke WSD saddle
    - Royal blue 2018 aluminum gravel bike, Rivet Pearl saddle

    Gone but not forgotten:
    - Silver 2003 aluminum road bike
    - Two awesome worn out Juliana saddles

Fall brings Winter. Summer is better than Winter cuz I can ride my bike just about anytime without worrying about inclimate weather and darkness. So I'm not so excited about Fall. Sorry. Life in the Northwest!

This is my first Fall in FL, it's a wonderful break from the summer heat and rain... and knowing an Illinois winter isn't going to happen I'm looking forward to fall for the first time in many years!

Thanks, add to that we're picking up a new-to-us little camper next week so we can explore more "off the beaten path" places... we're having a pretty good time
