This was last year, but such an enjoyable day had to share it. The ride started in a Maritime forest over shaded dunes, and ended on the beach once it got too dark beneath the canopy.

So you guys got me inspired to get off my duff and upload and edit some photos I've taken on my commute recently. It reminded me how spoiled I am in my bike commutes (and hooray, the job with a long car commute is done, over, no more!)

Yep--I take the ferry to Bainbridge Island a couple days a week, and work on Capitol Hill (hence the shot of Lake Union) another day of the week.

As you can see, it's always cloudy and raining here in Seattle

While it wasn't on a ride, it WAS on a hike (since I can no longer ride), and hike is only one letter off from bike. So there is my justification

    Pond shot :-)

    Lovely, quiet pond, Catrin.

For some reason I'm having a big problem uploading images, and my external link solutions don't appear to work well outside of public FB photos.

It was very peaceful & appeared very unexpected as I came out of the woods. There were other surprises but this was the most striking. Of course all of the green plants you see are floating on the water. I asssume they are water lilies but I saw no flowers to be sure.

I just returned from a month of travel in England, Wales and Ireland. Not all was cycling related but we rented some heavy city bikes in Cambridge, and took them for an overnight adventure to Ely. The last third of our trip was a self-guided cycling tour in Ireland. I have SO many pictures, but I'll post a few. Most are on my facebook page. Maybe I will try to figure out how to put them on something outside of fb....

Just a few to start: A market stall in Cambridge that services and sells bikes and accessories, a picture from our trip to Ely, and building in the town of Keighley, Yorkshire where my husbands family has some roots.

An easy way to do this is to create a free Flickr account and upload your photos there. You can set the pics to private if you wish, so nobody can see them on Flickr except you. Each photo on Flickr (under the "Share" button) then provides a BBCode link (with several size options) that you can copy into your post here, which will embed the photo in your post.

I'm sure there are other photo sites that offer similar functionality, I just happen to use Flickr.

So I am going to break the 2015 rule, but only once, I promise. Last summer, King County had this delightful Pianos in the Parks thing going on for a month or so. They had pianos that had been decorated by artists, and people were encouraged to play the pianos and send the county their videos and pictures. I found a couple of them on the Sammamish River Trail, and I just thought it was such a cool event!

I luv that kind of 'unexpected'….. street art AND music ftw.

my bike/camera travels have been mostly inner city the last week or so….going to the very hot desert this weekend for something different in both riding and photography.

Here are some more pictures from the Ireland portion of my trip

The color on the wildflower, Speedwell, is overexposed. Some kinds of Speedwell are deep royal blue, like my bike. The genus name is Veronica. My bike is named after this flower: Veronica Speedwell.
