there is time and a place for a Huffy

I'm not a fan of Huffy. I volunteered in the past as a wrench to bring bicycles to those who are in need of reasonable transportation and bikes for the underprivileged. Most of the kids bicycles were Huffy and I really hated to work on those bikes. Heavy and components were ultra cheap and rarely could be refurbished.

But Huffy bikes do have a place.

My neighbor has a daughter who just turned four. She is growing so fast, she seems to be outgrowing her cloth, shoes every 6 month or so. On her fourth birthday, her parents got her a Huffy that fits her. Great on them for getting a bicycle that FITS!! They know that she will outgrow the bicycle within a year but they did say "ITS BETTER IF SHE GOT A BICYCLE THAT FIT THAN BUYING AN OVER SIZED ONE AND FOR HER TO GROW INTO" They were thinking of ride safety so good for them!!

The little girl learned to ride without a training wheel on a push bike. took her less than three month on a push bike to balance. So her first bicycle have no training wheels. And she is already jumping curves and skidding the rear wheel. Destined for cyclocross or downhill mountain biker.
