Smile notorious all over the place and a reverse compliment

I have some squamous cell cancer on my forehead on top of scar tissue from a previous car instigated and another from a squirrel wheel encounter face plants from my bike. For the last 6 weeks I have had to treat 2x a day with a caustic chemical cream designed to destroy the cancer cells. As a result the whole right side of my now healing up forehead has been blood red, raw and scabby. Now as it heals it is just scabby and itchy and the red raw area is alowly is slowly diminishing.

I go back and forth between two gyms depending on the day, whether I have a session with a trainer, and how conducive the weather is for riding. I have been doing this for 5 years and as a result know a lot of familiar faces, not by name to to say hi to. Almost every time I have been in the gym for the last 6 weeks since this started, someone has come up and asked me if I have fallen off my bike again.( how do they know again/) I have taken a perverse sort of glee in being able to answer that no I did not fall off my bike this time.

Today, at the gym, a total stranger walked up and asked me if I had fallen off my bike. She remarked that I looked fit and sporty which is why she asked.

inquiring minds want to know. How did she know it might have been a bike accident? and am I now notorious in both Katy 24 hour fitness gyms as "the clumsy biker?"
