With the snow we had this winter, and the fact that there is still 2feet of it in my yard, it will be June before the trails dry out enough here! Did do lots of fat biking this winter though.

We had no winter to speak of and I've been out every weekend. It's been fabulous but we sure do need rain.

I've been riding around the neighborhood, waiting for the snow to melt, for about a week. I've been riding an indoor trainer since January.
I'm not in top shape but had to get serious about fitness and weight loss, with a 40-mile charity ride in June on the calendar.
New bike this weekend, my current step-through bike is just too heavy and the wrong frame size.
So more spring riding is in my future!
Exciting stuff. Enjoy!
I got new knobby tires for my mountain bike a few months ago. A large hole had developed in one of the old ones a couple of years ago, and I had replaced them with "light trail" tires that would also be good for paved trails. But I'd like to get back to riding single track, hence the new knobbies. At the same time I had the saddle position adjusted -- I actually thought I needed a different handlebar, due to some wrist pain I'd felt the last few times I rode it, but the saddle position was way off so we started by fixing that and will revisit the handlebar issue later. After all that, I had hoped to get out for a few rides with it over the winter, but the weather did not cooperate.
Now the bike is out on the balcony covered by the same canvas cover that protects the new bistro set that I bought last summer. It's been out there a few weeks, through cold, snow, ice and sunshine. I hope the cover has done its job. I still want to get out and ride it -- I'm going to talk to a few of the mountain bikers in my bike club to see if we can get together for an easy trail ride.

We rode dirt last night for the first time in weeks. We have been on the trainer too. Fortunately we do lots of other things to keep us outdoors and moving so I have not felt like a totally cellar dweller on my trainer.
We still have a ways to go before the trails north of us are clear, but local dirt was better than no dirt at all.
We had a few great weekends and then the rain took over here in Texas... Now we are waiting for the trails to dry out! Can't wait to try out my new bike with the stem I just received!
