I bought a pair of the Terry winter commuter type cycling tights. Wore them this morning and they are awesome. They have a very minimal tri type chamois; I have some knickers with this and is fine for shorter commutes. It felt like I was wearing soft cozy leggings. Only downside is they do not have ankle zips.

I have a couple of pairs of the Terry Cold Weather tights, one with and one without chamois (discontinued). They are great for the Michigan winters.
