How would you like to go THAT fast!

These guys are crazy (in the sense public danger). No helmet going at speed at 124km/h drafting behind a big truck on a major road.

I would have found that fun in my teens or 20's, now it makes me cringe!

Yikes! Agreed, that is crazy...and the lack of helmet (not that a helmet is likely to do much good in a crash at those speeds, but still) is just the icing on the insanity cake!

Wasn't it the movie American Flyers where they did that? Maybe they were just trying to recreate the moment. Fools.

I was foolish on several occasion. I think bike helmet is bit moot at that kind of speed. At 45MPH or around there, the sound of air rushing around your head is so loud you can't hear much of anything.

At 60MPH, my cheek was flapping from the air, and all I can hear was the sound of air rushing around your head. Then I thought, my helmet is pretty much useless at this speed (if I crash). The other thing I remember was that it wasn't easy to breath with all that air hitting your face. Really couldn't pedal fast enough to get any power into the wheel. Good thing too that my wheels were balanced.

Yes it was a downgrade around 8% at around 7,000 to just above 5,000 feet elevation where the air was thin.

Not sure, but in Breaking Away on of the characters gets paced by a semi and hits 55mph. That was filmed a couple of hours from me, so needless to say we all wanted to try it.

At least he's wearing drag racing leathers and some kind of helmet.

Pedaling a bici wearing moto leather is a challenge all by itself!

so is he destined for Darwin award? Well I wouldn't trust a rocket motor where once its lit, you have no control. Look what happened to Virgin Galactic. Tis the problem with solid rocket motor.

I think I'll just have tea and watch with some amusement from the sideline. Wayyy off in the distant in case the something very bad happens.
