Once in a while the brain of swiss cheese sparks an appropriate response to a comment.

At the gym today a woman on the elliptical next to me commented, to me, out of the blue, that my chest area " was "lopsided".

When I replied that I was uneven because I had had a mastectomy due to breast cancer, she sighed and said "well a padded bra would make you look better."

I replied that beauty doesn't need two breasts and put in my ear plugs.

    sigh....

Wow!! I would be so shocked I wouldn't know what to say!

Good grief! And how rude! Swiss cheese for a head. I like that comment.

Wow. Amazing that anyone would say that!

Well, I'd rather have a lopsided chest than $hit for brains... you ROCKED your reply to her Marni, truly. That must have really felt good... would love to have seen her reaction to it.

Would there be a way to throw her elliptical into reverse? The nerve. You rock!

That woman never got the advice I gave my own kids: You can think it, but don't say it.

I definitely would have let a few bad words come out of my mouth in my response!

Personally I wouldn’t have rewarded her comments, especially the second one, with any reply....maybe just my 'yeah that's an insensitive and self absorbed comment' stare.

    This.

Better to be uneven on the outside than so very ugly on the inside.
