    5 AM Workout

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I started with dead lifts today, 50 pounds, ten reps, followed by 15 box jumps onto the 18 inch step. I did six rounds, but there was a twist. Each round the dead lift weight and reps increased. My last set of dead lifts was 35 reps at 100 pounds. But wait! There's more! Two side jumps followed by 10 pushups. Two side jumps, twenty push ups and so on... until you get to 100 push ups.

    Totals

    90 box jumps
    165 dead lifts
    20 side jumps
    550 push ups

I am now at work and SO tired I can barely move.

I have been working out at 5 or 5:30 AM, for like my whole adult life. I don't think I could do that workout...
There are some days I feel dead on my way home from the gym and it takes a while to revive myself. But, I keep going!

I had a protein shake on the way home. Non fat Greek yogurt, cereal and berries for breakfast. That is my usual routine on work out days. I considered bringing another shake to work, but since I'm trying to lose a few pounds, decided I could be a little hungry.

I am MUCH hungrier today than I was yesterday. And I spilled my almonds, so iI didn't get all of my snack.

I am SO looking forward to lunchtime.

To me 550 push-ups seems to be excessive and just not fun. I'm curious why you need to push your body to that level?. At what point does one become concerned about exertional rhabdomyolysis?.

I was thinking about you, Veronica, when I went to boot camp yesterday at 5:30 AM. Now that we no longer have the evil one coaching on one of the days, it's hard, but not puke inspiring . But yesterday, we did a lot of cardio, in a way that had me breathless, in between the pushups, burpees, sliders. This is the part of boot camp that is *easier* for me, but, after the third set was done, I was very happy it 6:25.
