    SMP Avant

I found this one on eBay for a good price (well, about $60 less than most new Avants) and thought I'd give it a try for the wind trainer bike. Saddles that work outside on the road don't always translate well to the trainer, and the Glider was no exception. Better than previous saddles, but with a bit of pressure on one part of the pelvic bones on the left side. I think there might be a nerve crossing just under the skin on that spot.
The Avant is fantastic! I was immediately able to increase the amount of time I was on the bike. I'm going to put it on my touring bike in the spring and see how it does on that one. It looks huge compared to the Glider, but really seems to disappear under me when I'm riding fairly upright on the tops of the brake hoods.

I have a Drakon on my road bike…it's the first ever saddle that gives me essentially no problems on road or trainer. It took me >7k miles before I found my saddle(s). I now have SMP saddles on my road, CX, and tandem (Lite 209 on the tandem and and a Glider on my CX bike). Not sure I'd ever bother with the mtb, since I'm not in the saddle or pedaling consistently, so I've never had the sort of issues that I do on the steady-state pedaling bikes.
