    Parting with my Rivendell....

Okay I am really in a quandary. As I mentioned a few months ago, I unexpectedly discovered a new bike when we went to Interbike in Vegas. "Bernard" is a beautiful Gilles Berthoud touring bike w/26 " wheels. After some nice S24O's I have come to the conclusion that he is a better fit for me, Trust me this has been a tough call.
So now I am facing a tough reality that keeping "Sky" my beautiful Rivendell Bleriot really isn't practical. Owning two bikes that serve a very similar purpose is pretty selfish.
I am not a selfish person and selling "Sky" would actually help pay for "Bernard" OR I could make a lovely gift to my DD... but not sure if she would appreciate her.

Obviously I am typing this more to get it out of my head than to expect practical advice from fellow crazy bike chicks I feel like I did in college when I sold my horse. Sigh

Unless you really need to sell one bike in order to pay the bill for the other, why not just wait and do nothing for now? Sometimes difficult actions become easier if you give yourself time to get used to them.

What size is the Rivendell and what are you going to ask for it?

I'd sit on it until spring, if only for the reason that if you have made up your mind to sell it, you'd be more likely to find a home for it.

Ask DD if she'd like it and ride it.
At least I don't leave slime trails.

    NO NO NO.....ME

having two very nice bikes is a dilemma we should all have! Since the Berthoud fits better you'll probably ride it more. If money doesn't come into it give it to DD with a HUG and hope she enjoys it as much as you did.....at least it's still in the family that way and she may become an occasional riding partner!

You all are the best! Tulip, My Bleriot is a 52-53cm. I haven't priced it out yet as if I sell her I am going to change the wheels and take the schmidt hub and put it on the Gilles Berthoud. Also have to decide if I would sell with or without the Nitto racks. Thanks for encouraging me to just take my time. When I get my act together I will let everyone know

Too large for me. Best wishes in finding a good home for it.
