(((((((Pax))))))) I don't think there's too much more miserable than severe nausea. Hope you feel better soon. Have you seen a gastroenterologist? Gross as it sounds, I've been reading a lot of promising things about stool transplants...

Home sick today, belly pain, nausea, diarrhea. I've had repeated bouts of this over the last 15 months, since we went on vacation to Mexico and came home with salmonella and e coli poisoning. Probiotics seem to keep things in check for the most part, but if I start feeling even a little "off" I end up like today. I feel AWFUL.
Got my annual physical next Monday, I'm going to see if my doc can offer up any better solutions. This can't last the rest of my life, can it?

I was thinking about that very thing, Oak. That or possibly untreated worms. Either way, and as gross as this all is, I'll do whatever I need to do to stop feeling awful.
((((Pax)))). I'm so sorry. GI issues are the worst. I hope your doc can get you sorted out.

In addition to your regular Dr., consider visiting a naturopath, they may have some additional tips to get the gut back on track.

I also agree with a gastro doc. They are used to these types of issues. It sucks, but it's best to bite the bullet.

Fortunately I have a wonderful primary care doc who doesn't hesitate to recommend a specialist or alternative treatment if indicated. I haven't seen her about this since the initial infection, too busy taking care of my mom to take care of me. *sigh*
We care givers need to take care of ourselves too! Hope you feel better soon, stomach "stuff" sucks.
Thanks, Snap. I'm having to cancel on something with my mom tomorrow, I feel bad about it but I have got to do something about my own health from time to time.
