Plants for rooms with no windows?

    To disable ads, please log-in.

My job has just moved to a new office. We're in a very big room that has no windows. There are a few skylights, but they're very high up, with a dropped ceiling all around them, so they don't let sunlight into most of the room.

We have a pothos plant that we brought from our old office (which had lots of windows). I know that they usually do well in rooms with lots of florescent lights but no sun, so I plan to buy a few more of them. Can anyone suggest any other types of plants that would stay alive in these conditions? Preferably plants are easy to care for, like the pothos is?

    Thanks!

Maybe some ferns? They need some humidity though.

When I read the thread title I thought pothos but you've already got that covered.

    Perhaps a snake plant/mother-in-law's tongue?

oh and maybe some types of dieffenbachia

I have an arrowhead plant that has survived my windowless office. That might be an option....

Philodendron - it survives just fine on artificial light only and just needs moderate watering. In some areas I've heard it called "Devil's Ivy" because of that

Yep - this was my suggestion too. I have one on my desk that gets zero sunlight and it's doing fine (and sorely neglected!). In fact, if I remember correctly, this little plant is a descendant of a philodendron that I had in college (25 years ago!!).
