Thought I would give a little introduction of sorts

    Well Hello Everyone!

I just turned 44, and literally just learned (mostly) how to ride a bike. I am not quite at the get on, and pedal phase just yet (going to practice though) - more like scoot for a bit to build up speed and ride for about 50 yards.

I am planning on practicing on my SO's Trek 820 to build confidence and become a little more proficient in cycling.

At some future I would like to graduate to my own bike.

It is never too late to learn! Welcome. There are lots of ladies here who rode a bike as kids/teenagers/college student who are getting back on bikes for one reason or another. I myself rode all the time in college and at 39 decided to get back on a bike for road riding. I am 42 and overweight and trained for my first metric century last year. I started with a short 2.5 mile ride on an old mountain bike and thought I was going to die!!! Now I love to ride and my longest distance has been 60 miles! Just find a nice flat parking lot or flat paved trail section and practice before long you will be riding. After you get the basics down I would suggest finding a local bike shop (LBS) and ask if they know of any basic riding classes. Keep riding and enjoy.
