I empathize with you. I had two times when I went for 11-12 months with no period and then had one, until it finally stopped. I was secretly celebrating, too!

After 18 months of no period, my period has revisited with heavy enough flow that it's just now it makes me wonder.
Honest, I was secretly celebrating that I had already moved onto menopause and beyond.

Interesting. Since menopause is described as 12 months without a period, it's hard to understand. I have read that you should be checked by a doctor if you start bleeding after menopause, though, just in case. Happened to my MIL and turned out she had endometrial cancer. You're probably just fine, but it is a bit odd, I guess.
I'm currently down to a period every few months. MUCH better than when it was every 21-28 days. Can't wait to be done with it for good, though it does seem like since they've slowed down, I'm aging a lot faster -- skin, hair, hands, etc. I guess the old lack-o-estrogen is working its magic.

I agree, if this is your first one in 18 months it might be worth to get it checked out. Things are probably fine, but just in case there is a problem...
