Specialized Roll 8 - has anyone seen this bike?

In my never-ending search for a bike when I'm not sure just what I'm looking for, I came across this:

Specialized has other step through bikes, but this one is steel. The LBS nearby sells Specialized and I was heading back there to maybe schedule a fitting. They also have a 2012 Dolce Elite left in my size. I'd like to look at a Roll 8 if he has one, but I'd like some input before I go.

That is a wide bike range.

I really liked the Dolce for the price and what you get. The Dolce is probably way lighter than the Roll 8. The Dolce can only be used on road in dry weather. The road bike handle bars give you a variety of handhold positions. The Dolce will be way faster than the Roll 8.

The Roll 8 seems more like a commuter road bike and give you a much more upright position. More sturdy and less likely to slip/slide on pavement compared to the Dolce. But there is no way you can do any group rides with this.

So, I guess you have to pick the bike you want for what you want to do. I initially had a hybrid so that I could MTB and road bike at the same time...which ended up being no fun because the hybrid was way too heavy to go fast on the road and not grippy enough for mountain . Unfortunately, the closest thing to an all around bike is a Cyclocross bike, which is still slightly heavy for road and the tires are still not wide enough for good grip going mountain biking downhill.

That's why so many of us have more than 1 bike.

Thanks TigerMom. I didn't mean to compare the two bikes - I know they're very different, and I would certainly be using them for different things. When I re-read my post I realized it was confusing. I only have two bikes now - no, three, but one is probably going to be sold. And I probably could use one or two more I was thinking of some sort of mixte/commuter type.
