I dropped a case of beer on my foot.

I have stuff to do today! Fun stuff! Good stuff!
And now I am sitting here with an ice bag.

    Youguys are the best!

That beer wasn't even cold! But I did drink some out of the fridge.
Nothing broken. Just a little bruisy on the edges.

(I'm making 'youguys' be one word, plural, no gender, because it is too weird to call a bunch of women 'guys' and I am not from the south so 'y'all' doesn't really work for me either!)

For a minute there I thought you were talking about the beer not being broken! Hope your foot heals up quickly!

The beer wasn't broken either; it wasn't even bruised, but the cello wrapper that I mistook for plastic strong enough to carry the weight of the box is busted to bits.

In the Carolinas the generic "y'all" becomes "youn's"

What does it say that my reaction was "owie ow ow. I hope not all the bottles broke so she has a beer to ease her pain"?

"Youn's" is a collective term for a group of women? That's cool. I want that in my dialect; I wonder how long I'd have to live in the Carolinas before it started to sound right.

In the Pittsburgh area it's spelled "yinz," and it's gender neutral.

Hey yinz guys - get in here it's time to red up the house..... someone spilled a whole box of gum bands. I'll give you some pop and chipped ham sandwiches when you are done. (3 guesses where I grew up)

My foot feels your pain... my shower door came off and landed right on my left foot a couple of weeks ago. Nothing broken, I can walk on it without any pain, but I had some nice black toes for a few days and my foot still swells up after a day in my work shoes.
