    My new-to-me Surly LHT!

I am so excited about this beauty that I scored on CL today!! It is a 2009 and 50cm size with the 26 inch wheels. I am just giddy over the moon at this find. I intend to use it for some long tours of the C&O canal and the Great Allegheny Gap this summer, as well as just kickin' around, which I don't really feel comfortable doing on my race-y bike.

Now I am going to spiff it up with a Brooks B68 saddle, some Velo Orange Fenders, a Planet Bike headlight and the SPD/flat pedals

    Anything I'm forgetting?

Congrats....and happy trails! I have a 2010 SLHT and love it. I've done a couple of sub 24H trips and rode it throughout the winter. I'm planning some weekend trips this summer. I named mine "the beast". Looking forward to lots of fun!

    Beautiful find!

LHT's are amazing. As much as I hate to admit it, those grumbly guys at Surly make functional, lovely bicycles. Fenders. Lights. Panniers. Helmet. Brooks B17 special (in my opinion) and you're good to go! (B67 is alright if you don't think B17 will fit.)

Great score! I've tried scouring for a 42 cm Cross-Check (I have a 46cm LHT but the bottom bracket is higher on the Cross-check raising the top-tube height so 42 cm is my goal. ) - I missed out on the light blue frame and I'm kicking myself. What are you gonna do though? Surly bikes are hard to find used. LOL!
