    First Right Hook Close Call

Not bad, after 4200 commuting miles, this is the first right hook close call. This is a high bike commuter traffic intersection, but I still do not like it.

    Near Right Hook

    Be safe all!

I can't see the video because I'm on a kindle, but I'm glad you're okay. I was right hooked but managed to stay up after executing an emergency right turn, with just my arm getting hit by the passenger side mirror. This was a few years ago. It stays with you for a while. I had some road rage tendencies for a couple of weeks afterword. Take it easy if you feel this. It will pass.

I was nearly right-hooked at an intersection near my home a few years ago. By a black SUV with a big "CLERGY" sign on the driver's door. Guess the whole "thou shalt not kill" thing was just one commandment too many for that preacher.

I've had other problems at that intersection with drivers turning left while I'm in the intersection going straight. I avoid riding it now -- it just makes my blood pressure rise.

    So glad you're okay!

I've seen quite a few videos floating around here. Do many cyclists make it a habit to use video cameras, for just such a case?? At least, during commuting it seems like a pretty good idea.

I've actually been using it more for fun and recently playing around with having a front and back camera. The nice thing about these new ones, like the GoPro is you can just delete the recording if there is not much there.
