Chased the Google Street View car on my bike today

As I was climbing eastbound on Fair Oaks Blvd towards New York Ave in Fair Oaks, I saw the Google Street View car traveling southbound on New York, so I decided to have a closer look. My helmet cam was recording, so I got video of it on several side streets off of New York Ave. When it went back northbound on New York Ave the car pulled over, so I looked at the driver and pointed at my helmet cam so they would know why I followed them down several dead-end streets.

In a few months you're going to need to go look at those maps. You, too, can be famous like me!

A couple Summers ago I was on a late afternoon 6 mile run and saw the Google cam car several times. So I looked at the street-level map of the route when it was up and about crapped myself when I saw it.

For some reason it makes my gut look preggers, though. I think my top must have poofed-out, or something. Very odd.

Wow. I've never actually seen the Google car. Until now.

That's cool! You're right, it does make you look pregnant. When I looked at the pic I hadn't read the rest of your post yet, so I thought to myself "You go girl!"

I can't wait until they update the maps. If I find myself on there I'll be sure to post the pics.

It's funny...I'd already had my tubes tied years before they got that shot. Everyone who's seen it has said "your belly doesn't look like that!" Camera didn't add 10#s, it added 6 months!

I think it was maybe 6 months later that I discovered they'd updated the street-level cam stuff, so you may not find anything for a while. I saw the car 3x during that run, so I was pretty suspicious that I'd see myself somewhere on the route.

Thought Kirsten was pregnant in the google pic. And I thought OMG, she's still jogging with her belly so big

If they hadn't blurred out my face I'd be suing them for defamation of my shape!

On a brighter note, your legs look awesome in that shot!
Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Continue to learn. Appreciate your friends. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is.

And they usually don't look good in photos, so that part is good.

I saw a video of that while searching for other videos of people following Google vehicles. I was hoping to find another cyclist chasing down a Google car. What a nice surprise it was to find out that they actually have a bike too!

I would love to ride that around!

A YouTube commenter just informed me that I show up in the newly updated images, so here ya go!

When I first posted this video back in March, I caught a little flack on BikeForums for not making a complete stop at a stop sign, which happens to be at the bottom of a hill that I had to climb in order to keep up with the car. I had slowed down, looked both ways, and went for it. Oops!

Here's a better shot of the tank of a bicycle that I had to ride up said hill. It's a 2010 Trek 7000 WSD, which is a pretty low-end bike. I made it faster by replacing the power-robbing suspension seatpost with a normal one.

Zoomed-in view. You can see the ContourHD helmet cam here:
