I bought new road bike. Can the brake levers be adjusted so they fit my hand better?

yes, are you on drop bars? You can unwrap and move the brake levers and rewrap or your LBS can help you out.

Sounds like you need someone to do a fitting for you. Go back to your bike shop and ask them for a fitting. Some shops offer it when you buy a bike from them. Others will charge you ($100 or so depending on where you live). A bike that does not fit you properly will result in all sorts of hurts, so it's worth it to have it fitted properly.

I don't know if you have Shimano components, but if so those shifters can be shimmed. You can also replace them with short reach shifters if needed. Let the LBS know you're having problems & they should help you get it resolved.
