Seattle Women's Intro to Racing Rides

    To disable ads, please log-in.

It's that time of the year again! We'll be spreading out the rides again this year. One per month, rather than 3 weeks in a row. You don't have to be a racer to participate!

Intro to Women's Cycling and Racing Teams: In late summer and early fall, a combination of women from many of the local racing teams will host rides similar to the Meet the Teams rides, with the exception that this ride is for women only, and each ride is hosted by women representatives from multiple teams. If you are new to the racing community, looking to strengthen your riding skills, thinking about racing, or looking to speak with other women about local racing teams or riding opportunities, this ride's for you! Dates for 2011 are: August 21, September 25, and October 2 (all Sundays).
    # Time: 9:00 AM at Pert's in Leschi. Prepare to be on the road by 9:10 AM. Please don't be late!
    # Route: south end of Lake Washington
    # Skills: pacelines, riding a straight line, and racing tactics/techniques. Depending on turnout, we'll break into groups no greater than 10 to keep it manageable and go over the basics, making sure to keep things fun and not stressful.

Bump! - the first one is tomorrow.

If you are at all curious about racing or just want to get a little experience/instruction about paceline riding come on out. It should be a great day.

While we do expect that you will be riding a road bike - cross bikes are fine too - just no cruisers, tri-bikes with aerobars, or mt bikes, this will be a no-drop ride.

Feel free to ask me any questions.

Eden! I am interested in finding out more about racing. I usually have church on Sunday mornings, but I will try to make it to one of the meet the team rides. Do you still have flexibility during the week for rides? I'm...er...lightly employed right now, and would love to meet up some time for a ride & chat about racing.

I'm still on a part time schedule, so I can ride some days during the week. PM me and we can set something up. I can also probably wrangle together a few teammates on a Saturday, if you'd like to meet a few of us - though probably not this coming one, or next one - Master Nat's down in Bend and the MS150.
