    What's your favorite interval workout?

Just curious what everyone's favorite interval workouts look like.

The only interval workout I do is a spinvervals DVD. It has 3 x 6 minutes (hard), 6 x 1 minutes (harder) and 4 x 30 seconds (super hard!--sorry, that's the best I can describe it).

I sometimes do hill repeats too. But I prefer to do a gravel road ride near us that has lots and lots of hills--I like the variety.

That sounds like Dropping the Hammer - which is my favorite interval workout.

I do have a route that I will do hill repeats on as well.

"Favorite interval workout?" Isn't that an oxymoron?

When my 1-minute sprints get to be my easiest workout, the one I don't dread, is when I know it's time to do more repeats each session.

Mile repeats, on the other hand, I dread no matter what.

I'm sure if I did the: 15-30 min warmup, sprint 3, recover 90 sec that is on my calendar it would be my fav!

It is! I just started doing it back 2 back. Reason being, last year's big race I obviously did not have the endurance. If I do the video twice (less the warm up and cool down) it's about 1:48. My race will take me close to 2.5 hours.

The first time through, I do it as is. The second time through I increase the intensity. For example, during the 3x6 minute intervals, at minute 3, I turn to a really hard gear, hold it for a minute, then go back--like and under/over.

    Wow! Twice - that's tough!

    Good luck with your race.
