Talking Most fun on the bike!

This weekend I camped at my favorite park where I mountain bike. I am accustomed to riding solo, but this weekend my personal trainer and his wife was also camping. They are both avid mtbr's and he decided to give me an hour of coaching time

One of the two beginners trails I really like, but until this weekend I only attempted to ride 2/3 of the trail. Out of that 2/3 of the trail I could ride most of it, but there was a rocky section that scared me, and of course there was exposed edge that I walked as well.

Before I met with them Saturday, I went on my own to the same trail and rode my usual portion of it - but this time I rolled over the rocky section on the downhill direction! Took a break and went out with them a couple of hours later.

Since I wasn't alone, and my trainer was behind me who knows how to motivate me, I pushed myself and rode the WHOLE thing both directions Even the scary exposure! I only walked one rocky stream crossing and a very short off-camber/eroded part of the trail - combined I probably walked an entire 50 feet if that far!

I really appreciated their help, and he pointed out a few things that have been getting in my way, mainly my shifting technique and how I start the bike.

While I am sure I was still quite slow compared to more advanced riders, I was going much faster than I have been and really learned the lesson about momentum being my friend. I had the most fun during that ride that I EVER have had on a bike. Any bike

You are a great bunch of women, TE women rock It is nice to be able to post my newbie milestones here though everyone has so much more experience than I do.

I think that knowing how inexperienced I am on the mountain bike, and really on any bike, it helps me to relax & have fun without comparing myself to others.

Next step is to go back to that same trail by myself and do it again
