Thanks to whomever recommended looking at the Cannondale Quick for my commuter bike. Bought one today on REI's f&f sale and I think it will be just the ticket. Tried 7 different bikes over the last several weeks and this one was clearly the most comfortable with great shifting and good brakes. On sale it fit my budget ($500). (Note it was less windy so I managed not to be blown off any bikes today.)
Quite an upgrade from my purple Huffy bike. Let's see how long it takes me to be ready to do the whole 16 mile ride to or from work. Plan is to take it by car/bus to work, ride at lunch for a few days, then ride home. But first I must do some, er, seat conditioning. Bought a fancy new girl saddle. That might reduce the posterior break-in time.
I'll keep you posted!

Great news! Yes, a photo is always required when you get a new steed!

OK, well, that clearly didn't work. Let me try linking to a web album. There will be a brief delay...
Photo, take 2...
Argh! Anybody know the trick to actually posting pictures?

Oh dear me. A commuter bike. That sounds tantalizing. But I think I have enough "new" for now. On the other hand, this sounds like a good bike for my DH.
Here is your bike!
I right clicked on the picture and copied the URL. I then pasted it in between the tags [img] [/img]
What size is your Quick? I am looking at the extra small with the 26 inch wheels.
It's SOOOOO pretty!!! Congratulations!!

Size: Small
Which surprised me as in most others I was put on a medium and I had just overheard another salesman talking about how the Cannondales run small. But this was a good fit.
That looks like fun! I love the frame shape especially. Congratulations!
