I will miss the Bike Expo this year too. I'm going on a ride on both Saturday and Sunday with some friends. A more "social" ride then the one I did this past Saturday with you Mimi and your hubby Raleighdon. Each about 35 miles long and both with a lunch stop afterwards for socializing. The one on Sunday will be starting at the same spot as the spring populaire last weekend. We plan to eat after the ride at the Redhook Brewery. It's leisurely . . . you should join us Mimi!

Susan, the reason I'm not going to Bike Expo is that i will be at an art workshop saturday and sunday. But the ride length and pace sound very nice.

I've been to the Bike Expo 3 times over the years. Some good bargains.

But am living in a province next door to B.C. Not sure there is a bike show in our neck of the woods...

    Bike Snob

Not exactly the world's greatest photo, but there it is. Here's a link.

Also not the best photo, but it's him! He looks like some actor, but I can't quite put a finger on who. He was very nervous, but still funny.

A little bit like Kevin Spacey, maybe?

    Not enough time!

We got there right as the doors opened and just about every minute was packed... I didn't get to visit all the booths I wanted to, there were so many good speakers and mini-shows this year. Loved the Bike Snob, wasn't he great? And Ulrike Rodrigues had a great presentation and fun slide show. I was dissapointed in the Susan Forsman talk though, left after about 15 minutes, it was rather boring I thought.

And I love Joe Kurmaskie's writing, but he ends up telling the same stories again and again and again... sheesh.

What a fun day! What great stuff to look at!! How fun to spend a rainy day with your tribe on a day that was perfect for shopping and drooling over bike goodies and picking up lots of little freebies... love that stuff!

Oh, and almost forgot the FASHION SHOW...that was our favorite part of the day! Narrated by Willie Weir (fantastic!) and what a hoot it was...had local bike shop managers and other folks modeling the latest bike fashions and bicycles and gear. Hope they do it again next year - it was so much fun!
