The advocacy group Transportation Alternatives has a response to the New York City cyclist ticket blitz.
It's lengthy, and possibly of limited interest to those not in the area. They make several good points. They point out that enforcement of laws is not necessarily a bad thing -- it means cycling is being taken seriously.
They also acknowledge that complaints (many legitimate) about cyclists are a problem, and that politicians are getting the message.
Finally, they ask the police to focus on cycling transgressions based on their danger (a very good idea).
