    Newbie wanting to try cx.

    Hello,

I just started road riding a few months ago. So needless to say I'm not fast and still have trouble with hills. However, I have been to CX races, they look so much fun and would like to try it. Should I even bother trying it this year considering I just start cycling? Or should I get more miles on the road bike and wait til next season? It just looks like so much fun, I know I would be last, but I don't want to overlapped and be completely embarrased either.
    Help?

    Thanks,
    Diana

Wavedancer said it best - there's no shame in last or lapped in a 'cross race - especially as a beginner/newbie. That's what's terrific about 'cross - it is FUN. go ahead and give it a try - I promise you that by next year, you'll be ready to rock the races!
