I plan to bring accessories for my new commuter to my LBS tomorrow after work - a saddle, decals, computer, and a spare rack I will be using. I can carry most of the stuff in a trunk bag, but any ideas how to safely carry a second rack?
DH says he'd drive it down as he (and I) feels that strapping it to my rear rack with its legs sticking straight up in the air is an accident waiting to happen. But I really would prefer to bring everything in one shot. It kind of defeats the purpose of my riding over there if he just drives down, you know?
Other than a backpack or courier bag, I have no pannier to use (I will have my clothes and towel in my Toocan bag and my Arkel is not adjusted for the rack and I'd prefer not to mess with it tonight).

You don't know my track record!
Got the rack to fit in the Toocan bag, along with the other stuff. Clothes will go in the backpack.

Can't you stack the new rack on top of the existing rack, and then zip tie it on? Like nested or stacking chairs, one on top of another. Nothing will stick up that way. And then lash the rest to both racks with a bungee. Or use your pannier.
