Welcome, fellow Virginian. There may be organized rides (road and mountain) in your area if you get interested in meeting other people and learning more about bike riding. There's a large group in Richmond, but I don't know if that's your area or not.

I'm new to this site; but am enjoying reading all the great information. I live in south central Virginia.
Am fairly new to biking (2 - 3 yrs). I have always enjoyed hiking, but my best friend likes biking and got me started.
Do mostly paved trails so far; have done a little bit of mountain biking but haven't done a lot yet.
Just here to read and learn. Thanks for all the great information.

I am a couple of hours from Richmond...I'm in South Central VA. On the border of North Carolina actually.
I'd love to do a ride one day. I'm a bit intimidated just yet, Lol. Although in a two day span of time, my best friend and I rode 75 miles back in June. So I am on my way I suppose.
