I did my first Sprint tri on Saturday!
I had SO much FUN! I am completely hooked!!! I just felt like I belonged there. AMAZING.
I had not been able to run for 2 weeks due to a hamstring/back injury. They aren't exactly sure which.
Swim -I didn't swim as well as I expected but nor did I get 'in line' where I should have. I got a hung up in traffic and that was my mistake. I also have to work on sighting for sure.
T times were slow because I was afraid to run. I wasn't willing to have that sharp stabbing pain return before I actually got on the run route.
The bike - which is my strongest discipline - also wasn't as fast as I had hoped. It was hilly but not too bad. <side note>I am thinking of getting new gearing as I only have a double.
The run - I 'ran' very conservatively. Mostly walked especially at the beginning. I was determined that if my hamstring acted up I was going to be able to run thru the finish line shute. And I did.
I absolutely loved every single part of doing this!! I need to get my back sorted out before I commit to anything but I want to do at least two more this season.
And next season...moving on to the Oly. At least.
Well done Shelley!

"My predominant feeling is one of gratitude. I have loved and been loved;I have been given much and I have given something in return...Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and an adventure." O. Sacks
Thanks all!
