I will make this short. Plan was for most excellent hydration, a good bike leg and good transitions. It is early in this season and I am not as fit at this time as previous years.

It was HOT!!!! I wilt in heat. (30 C - 86 F) Ok - hot for me! Race started at 11:15 - yep - height of daytime heat

    1:51:38

    4k run 21:14 - 5:19 pace

    T1 :59

    30k bike 1:04:29 - 27.9kph

    T2

    4k run - 24:08 - 6:02 pace

I was disappointed with bike, but the transitions were good. I thought I was well hydrated, but my body said no - didn't pee until I had taken in about another 1.5 litres post race. Something to work on - I think we're going to have another hot summer.

    Great job! Congrats!

I am envious of your weather. We had several inches of new snow this morning.

I'm thinking I may have like to be rolling around in snow instead..I'm trying to be grateful for nice weather...trying...trying.....

I have 2 races in June - I think the second one has a 1 p.m. start - I'm not even going to look until I get the pre-race newletter - no sense fretting about what I can't change...

Just wanted to say congrats to you for doing a great job. That looks like an exciting adventure minus the lack of water intake. I hope the next few are better for you.

    Congrats on the race.

If you want to roll in the snow, come down here. It's snowed 3cm since last night and it's still coming down. Ugh!

    I'm entertaining the thought...

On the way into work today I heard a startling statistic. We've had more hot days in the last week than we did all last summer. Explains my feeling of melting - it's going to take a bit to acclimatize to this!

We've had the coldest May on record. We're all starting to get a little crabby.
