I just registered for my first duathlon...I feel kinda pukey. Very much like I did after registering for my first marathon, even though I know this won't hurt nearly so much (assuming I don't crash, heh). I looked at last year's results and have a feeling I will be WAY at the end of the field, but that's OK--better to set an easy first-time PR and have lots of room for improvement next time!

Good luck, Zoom! You will do just fine.

When is the duathlon and what are the distances?

Thanks, girls! I am mostly freaked by the potential for crash or collision with another cyclist. 'Cause I'm a klutz.

It's 5k run, 30k bike, 5k run. I don't normally like 5ks, so it's kinda icky that I have to do 2 of them in one day, heh. But 30k on the bike sounds like a good distance.

4/25 - the Steelcase Grand Duathlon. Looks like last year had ~110 participants...I have no idea if that is a big turn-out.

Awesome! I'm sure you'll do great and probably totally surprise yourself!

I've never done a duathlon and I don't imagine I ever will...the thought of running twice in one race kinda makes me wanna hurl!

Congrats! I'm sure you'll be ready by then.

I've heard it said that all races hurt, but just in different ways
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

Yeah, so far the running distances I've found to hurt the worst are the 5k and marathon. So I'm going to punish myself with TWO 5ks in one day...ha, I didn't do a single 5k last year, so I guess I'm making up for lost time.
