We have had snow twice in Texas. None stuck but many of us natives are expecting a big storm. A few years ago we got iced in for 3 days, it paralyzing to us. I don't know how you all do it!

I think ice paralyzes most places. It's definitely worse than snow. Causes more power outages too.

We got two inches last night, but it did not wreak too much havoc. Schools are closed tomorrow, though, because the temperature is not going to get above freezing, which means icy roads, even though most of the snow is cleared. Expecting another couple of inches on Wednesday.

We haven't had much snow, yet, but the temps have been much below normal and it doesn't look like we will be much above 20 for at least another week. They say we will get snow Thursday/Friday.

We have had about ten inches since Friday night. It actually snowed on and off for 2 days. It's really nice, although it was very windy, even though it's not that cold (for winter). I went x country skiing yesterday at a local trail, not a touring center. The conditions were perfect, which is pretty rare for ungroomed trails. Fresh powder, no ice.
It's supposed to be calm all week, until Friday, when of course, I have to go into the city for a weekend class.

No snow here yet- just flurries-but the temperatures are bitter cold. 5 degrees with below zero wind chills

papaver, where is that? It reminds me of a picture I took in Belgium years ago, except it'd be that road in the full of summer.

It isn't suppose to get out of 30's Thursday. Snow would at least make it interesting. Of course I should stop whining, one of our college buddies just started his new job - in Fairbanks! He moved from Texas to days of no daylight and negative temps, there is always a way to put it in perspective I guess.
