Zen, have you never seen Bike Rt 1 in Virginia before? I think I know that guy reading the map, by the way. Really.

In my dreams, ALL paved roads will look like that in the future. With numbers of bike routes all the way up to 1000.

And they will be lined with lemonade stands staffed by amusing trained monkeys

No Tulip, this is news to me. I just read it in Adventure Cycling's blog tonight.

    (A) Bike Route 1 runs from Boston to Cape Cod, too. Riding it, or driving down it, I always thought the sign meant "1 mile to the bike route" or, basically, "Bike route in 1 mile."

Well, Zen has set a very high standard of Trail Honeys. That guy is the president of the Richmond Area Bicycle Association. He's very cool, nice and alot of fun.

Is this the old Highway 1 that spanned the east coast? Is it both a bike route and auto road, or is it strictly a bike route?

I don't know if it's the old auto route 1 (I think it is not). It is car/bike, but very nice roads, mostly. Y'all come down and give it a try sometime!

With a little Google search I came up with this site.
I am bookmarking it for further research.
There are routes all over the USA and just into Canada.
