    Missing my bike commute

Well I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself at the moment.

Missing the best weather for bike commuting.

Broke my ankle during a trail race 4 weeks ago. Still in a beastly boot for at least two more weeks.

No biking, no running, no swimming, no hiking, no long walks with the dog.

But I am working on upper body fitness to try and compensate.

Just wanted to whine a bit.

awwww. That is awful! That must be so hard! Whine away! Any way you could borrow a hand bike or something temporarily?? I have a friend who uses one of those.

    FEel better!

what a bummer! I would go stir crazy! My poor little minature burro just broke his leg two weeks ago, and I think he's getting depressed. All who are active miss their activity when they break

Oh man that sucks Two more weeks isn't far away though!

On the plus side, I'm sure your upper body is loving you right now -- what have you been doing?

Oh, I know what you're talking about. After I got my knee 'scoped this spring (beautiful biking weather - I was going nuts) I took my crutches to the gym and hobbled from one upper body machine to the next. I got looks. . . .
Give big space to the festive dog that make sport in the roadway. Avoid entanglement with your wheel spoke.

    Bummer!

I am just about to complete a 6 week sentence of bruised ribs.
I hope the good weather holds out for you!

I've just been going from one upper body machine to another and then ending with ab work. But it's definitely not the same knowing the whole body can't get involved.

At least today in NoVA it was a really nasty day outside and I wouldn't have been riding or running anyways.

Off with the beastly ankle boot! Wearing much smaller 'Velocity' ankle brace. Stationary bike for rest of week. Next week maybe back to the bike commute.

Today was my first bike commute in 5 weeks!

It was pretty nice. I even got excited just putting on my assorted bike/workout gear before the ride.
