I rode the Bodensee Radmarathon yesterday, that's around lake Constance. Full distance = 220K (135 miles)! And I got a gold medal (so did everyone else who finished the course in time).
Total time 8:15 or a 26kph average. My Odometer said only 217K.
We weren't even sure if we'd make it but we knew we could bail out anytime and hop on the train....
The longest ride I'd done this year is 135K - in May? June?
Given that I'd completely shot down my legs the week before with some running drills - quads were still hard&sore on Saturday morning...
Goest to show how much you can do by just not giving up - I was really strong up to 140 or so, then I had to suffer a bit, but not a lot, mostly in the hip flexors. Today I'm pretty sore, mainly quads and my seating - and walking up stairs is tough, but we went to a spa to soothe those muscles.
And now I'll go have a long afternoon nap.
It's a little secret you didn't know about us women. We're all closet Visigoths.
