    Phiten Titanium Necklace

Does anyone have one? In case you don't know what they are, they are suposed to help with muscle recovery and ease pain. A lot of runners have them (Paula Radcliff for one). I was just wondering if any bikers have some. Some swear by them, others say they are just a gimick.

Well, they are cute... the Hello Kitty one probably appeals to a lot of folks, and Phiten definitely has the sports fan market covered with all the team logo stuff.

If I need more titanium in my life, I think I'd buy a ti bike...
    http://ticycles.com/ (Mmmm, TiCycle Steilacoom, delicious!)

The Phiten necklaces aren't too expensive and they do have some pretty nifty designs. Wouldn't hurt to try one, and if you like the way it looks at the very least you have a pretty necklace!

Yes, I think they really aid muscle recovery and ease pain .... of the folks who make ti bracelets. They can get a massage , a steak dinner (you need a lot of protein to recover ), a jacuzzi installed they are not feeling any pain.

But if you like the bracelet, like the way it looks and it makes you feel better, faster .... get it.

This works just as well for me:

How? I was poking around the website and all I could find was PR mumbo-jumbo. It must be maaaagic.

    Eh, they're attractive.

And so is the spoke bracelet that Trek linked.

FWIW, I got free samples of some of the stick-on patches a year or two ago, and didn't notice any effect. I left them on three or four days I think, as long as they'd stay.

Not that there were any instructions anywhere, on the packaging or the website, on how they were supposed to be placed. Which tends to suggest that "it doesn't matter because they don't do anything."

But the jewelry is pretty... unlike the patches.

    You made my day.

Back in the 80's it was copper and magnets; in the 90's it was rose quartz.
why don't the livestrong bracelets contain a Ti wire?

Well, people claim lots of things good and bad to hawk their product. Get the necklace if you like it.

As for helping recovery or from muscle soreness... welllllll.... It itself doesn't do much just as magnets do nothing for you physically.

Now if you believe its going to help and are so sure, it may help with your psyche. Better attitude, better emotionally and just better all around for your mental state, it may help. WHAT??? yes your mental state can have direct impact on your recovery and healing process. The placebo effect.

If someone can recover faster beacuse of placebo effect, by all means go for it. Its far better than taking drugs with side effects or surgery. I'm all for placebo effect.

And it supports the website where we find out these all important tips.

Beautiful spoke nipples on my wrists always help me ride faster, feel stronger, recover faster and feel better.

    Joining in the fun -

I had two cochlear implant surgeries just so I can have magnets in my head to make me feel better and faster! Oh yeah, the powerhouse is all titanium! I feel the POWER! And it ONLY costs me $90k for the pair!

(All silliness aside, I do have two cochlear implants by Cochlear www.cochlear.com, and I do have magnets to hold the coil, and I do have titanium parts...all you have to do is look at the pictures. Insurance covered the surgeries.)

Livestrong bracelet doesn't need anything more than yellow whatever it is it's made of! I've been feeling really good since I put mine on again.

    Except for my sore leg.

    But wait.....

I was feeling pretty good before I put it on too, except for my sore leg!

I do like the yellowness, though. It makes me a little bit happier just to be able to see the sunny yellow color at any given moment!
