Poor Michael Rogers and Tom Boonen though! I hope Mick is all right after his crash.

I was hoping David's hard work would pay off and he'd cross the arrivee first, but alas!

    Whew finally caught up.....

that's my boy! Voekler isn't a legendary rider, but he has heart and he never, never gives up.

and that rain... for the GC guys today was all about staying out of trouble and away from that white paint! that was some carnage. I haven't heard how everything shook out quite yet, but it sounds like Michael Rogers is down for the count.

Actually according to Michael Rogers twitter, he's racing tomorrow. Said he's sore, but nothing broken. He actually finished the race today.

George Hincapie is ok after his spill as well (ah twitter! )

Of course I had to read that! He said it was the scariest day on a bike he's ever had. I wonder if it was because of the rain, or some other factor? Definitely looked slippery!

One of the riders said that area of Spain gets a lot of oil and dust on the roads that makes them extra slippery when it first rains in a while. They said it was like ice.

How old is that kid? He looked soooooo skinny crossing that line. I liked seeing his brother back in the peloton looking happy for him.

The cute little French boy is so unexperienced he totally forgot to zip up before he crossed the line

Oh but I do love to see Alberto climb he makes it look so easy. The teamwork was terrific too. I think that should put to rest all the controversy about who Astana is working for and whether or not there is infighting on the team. They worked like a well oiled machine - whooohoo. Even Klodi, who had me worried the way he used to sabotage Jan....

I'm sure that was the farthest thing from his mind. It was probably more like "holy poop! I can't believe it! I won the stage! Take that, Lance!"

I'm sure that mon dieu merde, was probably the first thing on his mind... (do you suppose the auto censor picks up languages other than English....), but not take that Lance. I'm going to bet he's a big enough boy to understand that while his win was VERY important to him, to France and to the stage, the chess match that is the chase for the overall win took precedence to the overall leaders, including Lance, over chasing him down unnecessarily... at 29th and 4:26 (and that is after today) back he could probably even try the same thing on the next stage and get away with it.

I'll also still bet he'll take a big ribbing at the dinner table tonight for showing the world his chicken chest :P , but I'm sure winning a stage of the TDF is worth any amount of teasing.
