C&O Towpath affected by Chain Bridge construction?

Today on washingtonpost.com, Dr. Gridlock mentioned something about changes to the towpath near Chain Bridge in DC, related to the maintenance work they are doing to the bridge.

Does anyone know any details on what's happening?

I would assume it'll be something to do with the access ramps from the parking area over to the towpath, but I haven't heard anything. Hopefully it won't be too disruptive.

This was what he said they were working on right now:

The workers are relocating the tow path on park land to accommodate the steel repairs.

    Does not sound good...

I don't see anything in the news section of the C&O Association site, and for some reason Firefox won't link to the NPS site for the park. Huh...
