I have that bag!! I love it!!! I don't have an SLR, but a fancy POS. I worry about the jarring, but it's very padded and had a velcro shelf to suspend the camera.
I wish I'd seen this before, but you got the bag anyway.

I have very narrow and small handlebars, and it fits perfectly. I couldn't go any bigger or it wouldn't fit.

Hope your trip is amazing- can't wait to see the pictures!!

I emailed Detours with a picture of my handlebars to ask if they'd work - I got one email back from someone saying yes, it'd work, and then I got another email from someone else saying no, it wouldn't work and the first guy was wrong.

    Lol.

That's too bad - but good thing someone caught the mistake of the first guy.

Maybe you just need another bike to use that bag specifically...

ha. I think it might work on my surly, so I went ahead and ordered it from REI outlet, because with their 20% off coupon going it ended up being about $25.

It won't work on either of my road bikes, because I've got those stupid flatbars on them that I love, but I'll look if I can figure out some way to make it work.

But I was hoping to find something that would work to have my good camera along for bike virginia.
