    METRO regulations

I have to ask: If bicycles are not allowed on METRO subway trains during rush hour, why are strollers?
"How about if we all just try to follow these very simple rules of the road? Drive like the person ahead on the bike is your son/daughter. Ride like the cars are ambulances carrying your loved ones to the emergency room. This should cover everything, unless you are a complete sociopath."

    Scary, but probably accurate!

As I understand it, strollers are supposed to only use the end doors (like bikes) but I'm told they rarely adhere to this and are rarely asked to comply.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

Folding bikes are allowed at all times. It's hard, though, to maneuver a folding bike in a bag (required) plus a pannier or two.

That may be, but bikes don't scream when they're hungry or tired. And chainring grease isn't a problem if you use the right lube and wipe enough off

I like Catriona's take on it. Yet another reason that bikes are preferable (sorry, Nicole!)

I just seem to perpetually have grease on my legs or pants lately.

I guess I could do something about it or switch lubes or something... but... I don't really care.

Why me, because I have kids?

If my bike and my kid are falling down should I catch my bike because my kid will heal but the bike might get scratched?!?

Well, you don't seem like the type of parent who would be offended by someone else who'd prefer to have a bike than kids, but I wanted to cover my bases just in case

I think my bikes give me more consistent pleasure than my kids do
