Terry Liberator Race Gel Saddle - used but plenty of life left - $20

    HI,
I am doing the Tour de Cure in Howard Co as well. To make a long story........I am a 40 something that finally decided to take care of me. I joined a gym, hired a trainer and have lost nearly 60 pounds. I was always been the fat girl that could play sports(back in High School 100 years ago). ANYHOW..........I have always wanted a road bike so I BOUGHT ONE. I am working up to the Tour and it seems that once I get to about 12 miles or so my female parts are mildly uncomfortable. Is that normal? I use padded shorts(cheap Performance brand) and am trying to remedy the problem cheaply. WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR BIKE SEAT COULD DO FOR ME?????
    THANKS!!!
    Julie

Congrats for taking control of your health!

What saddle are you on now? Have you played with its angle and fore/aft position? Does it have a cutout?

I'm doing the Tour out of upstate New York (I have relatives there). What distance are you looking at doing?
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

I have the saddle that came with the bike.........No cut out, have not played with fore/aft. I need to look into that. Feel free to advise.

I am doing the (32 mile)Tour in Maryland(I am a dairy farmer with three teen boys and a disabled husband so getting away alone for a day is about all I can do right now!).

I am so excited to be taking care of me and it feels WONDERFUL-Exercise has become my drug of choice!

What bike do you have? Just wondering how your saddle compares to the ones I'm selling. There's much interest in the Terry and it will probably sell tonight.

Do you have any idea how wide your sit bones are? That's important in selecting the right saddle. I have very narrow sitbones.

In general you want your saddle to be pretty much right on level. Personally, my girly bits are more comfortable with the nose tipped down slightly (definitely down but not so much that I'm sliding forward at all).

Milkmade, where are you in Maryland?

I've got a beat up terry butterfly and a terry liberator (I think - I could be wrong) saddle. If you're close by, you could just come by and try them on your bike to see if either would work.

    MDhillslug,

I'll call you on Friday when I'm leaving Bethesda. I'm pretty sure the 32's will fit up front, not certain about the back, but I'll give 'em a try. The 28's that I have on the bike are fine for commuting on, but maybe the 32's'll be better if I want to do a day on the C&O canal or something like that.

Did you send off the octalink bottom bracket with the ultegra cranks that you sold?

The BB went with the cranks.

I have some "Allterrainosaurus" tires that call themselves 30/32. I used them at Rosaryville and will use them on the C&O when/if I get back there.

    Dang.
I'll take that Road Morph pump if ASammy doesn't snag it first.
I was just looking at those, as my frame pump bit the dust on my commuter.
