    My new bike

Hi, I'm new here. I was trying to find info about bikes when I found men's bike forums. I felt kind of out of place and I'm not Lance anyway nor do I aspire to be. I found this place and I wanted to say how nice it is to come and read for awhile. I want to be just like you guys. When I'm tired I think "I can go 5 more miles". I some times think "I hate hills". And I always think you're inspirational.

I have fallen over with my shoes stuck to my pedals and gotton all scraped up, and bit it pretty good going about 16 miles an hour (finger will never be shaped the same again). I've been told by two separate friends that maybe I should quit or learn how to ride a bike. I was riding fine, just circumstances I will now recognize better in the future. Anyway just saying thanks and my litany will now echo forever... Having the time of my life and I will not quit!

    Welcome, Greta!
Post pics of your bike - you know we love to drool.

And - I am still too chicken to get clipless pedals... so you are ahead of me!

Clearly your "quitter" friends don't appreciate the joy that comes from picking the bugs out of your lip gloss after a great ride.

    Don't stop!

    Greta,

I heard that when someone gets clip shoes, they will fall at least once. This was true with me. Not only did I fall and was unable to un-clip in time...I fell in a ditch! I was scraped and bloodied, but thankfully my new shoes went unscathed! lol

    Have fun and be safe!!
